"What word matches 'A blank blank E blank E'?"
To find words matching a crossword patter (that is, some known letters with some unknown letters, like the pattern above), just fill in this form with the letters you know and with an underscore for ones that you don't. So, for example, the question above would be
a__e_e
Search tips
- Case doesn't matter, so "H_LLO" is the same as "h_llo".
- The word list used is British English, so "c_l_r" won't find "color".
- You can only search for whole words. So if your clue is "Go away (4,3)", you'll need to search for the four-letter word and three-letter word separately.
- Speaking of four-letter words, the word list contain all the usual naughty ones. So if you're easily offended, then there are some searches you maybe ought to avoid. Unless you're the Pope, that is, in which case you might find it helpful.
For alternative ways of solving word puzzles, you might also want to try finding a word that starts or finishes with certain letters, or searching for anagrams of your words.
